Eagles, ghost traps, crashing waves. “Friends and family loved our wedding because of the island vibe,” says Alex Hitchcox, who married her husband, Doug, on the artists’ colony of Monhegan Island. “It’s the feeling of escape and be- ing together in one place. You don’t have to worry, drive, deal with traffic. Once you get to Monhegan, you can take a big exhale.”
