One of the oldest tropes in Maine is to stalk Henry David Thoreau’s excursions through the Maine Woods and try to channel him, preferably while roughing it in a 21st-century wilderness resort with views of Moosehead Lake, sipping coffee (or cognac) in front of the fire.
