Meet the next generation of Portland musicians to keep an eye on this winter.

As was clear to anyone who attended the packed 21st annual Beatles Night shows at the State Theatre recently, Portland has no shortage of veteran musicians. More than twenty guitarists, horn players, drummers, and string players filled out Spencer and the Walrus. Many of them are of the generation that started playing Portland in the halcyon days of the late ’90s and early 2000s, when it seemed like every door in the Old Port and on Congress Street opened into a live music venue.
