One of the brightest lights on Route 1 in Saco, this place is hopping. From the moment you get out of the car and hear the throb of island music from the boom box guiding you in, you know you’re in for a fun time.

A cozy table set for a party of four begins our adventure.

“My inspiration is my mother’s kitchen,” says chef-owner Mabel “Tyce” Reid-Wallace, who, upon seeing me recording the event, demands my phone, curates away two of her least favorite pictures, laughs, and hands it back. “The cuisine and I are from Saint Catherine’s, one parish over from Kingstown.”
