Maine actress, writer, producer, antiques aficionado, and dancer Victoria Rowell experienced querencia (a dear place one feels drawn to upon returning) while shooting the upcoming film Summer Camp with pals Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates, and Alfre Woodard, now in post-production from Saks Picture Company.

Even though you made this movie in North Carolina, Summer Camp must have spoken to your Maine experience.

The first thing I noticed was how verdant North Carolina is and its similarities in tree and flora species to Maine. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee National Forest, and Nantahala National Forest were highlights! I toured George Vanderbilt’s Biltmore Estate gardens as well.
