We see you’re a Navy veteran, an MUS3—Musician Third Class Petty Officer. We appreciate your service. What was it like to embark on a career in music while in uniform?

Yeah, you know what it did? It gave me this introduction to touring and performing—being a full-time musician. Driving a fifteen-passenger van and docking it into the bay. How to work a crowd, turn an audience on. I did a lot of small performances in college studying mu- sic, but this was the real thing.
